Minister of Culture and Agriculture, Abbas Mortada received on Wednesday at his ministerial office the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman, Badr bin Muhammad bin Badr Al-Mundhiri, with whom he discussed bilateral relations, especially in the field of culture, most notably the House of Culture and Arts project and the Lebanese-Omani Headquarters.
In this context, Mortada underlined Lebanon's commitment "to finalizing this cultural headquarters and providing the facilitations required for the project to see the light, given the positive outcomes expected from it, in the hopes that all of this will benefit the people of both countries."
In his turn, the Omani Ambassador expressed his country's willingness to support the said project, and work for the activation of cultural exchange.
Mortada also met with Spanish ambassador Jose Maria Ferre, with talks touching on the means to develop existing cooperation between Lebanon and Spain, especially at the level of cinema, theater, cultural festivals and libraries.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the pair tackled the prospects of establishing cooperation between the two countries in the agricultural field.
The Spanish ambassador relayed his country's desire to support agricultural production in Lebanon and uphold its workers through in-kind assistance, "especially since Lebanon and Spain are similar in interest in agriculture, both being Mediterranean countries."
