President of the Republic Joseph Aoun welcomed at Baabda palace, a delegation of Lebanon’s economic bodies, led by former Minister Mohammad Choucair.
The delegation congratulated President Aoun on his election as president of the Lebanese republic, and wished him success in his new duties.
President Aoun hailed “the efforts and role played by the private sector and the economic bodies, despite the difficult circumstances."
After the meeting, Choucair told reporters: “The meeting with His Excellency was more than excellent. We wished him, on behalf of the economic bodies and the private sector, success and congratulated him on his election as President of the Republic. We assured President Aoun that the economic bodies will always stand by his side.”
The delegation also presented the President with the first version of a comprehensive economic reform study, entitled “Aspirations for a New Lebanon,” prepared and devised by the economic bodies.
