National Defense Minister Michel Menassa received at his Yarzeh office, British Ambassador to Lebanon Hamish Cowell.
Discussions reportedly touched on the latest developments in Lebanon, in addition to the bilateral relations between the two countries, with emphasis on the depth of existing cooperation, especially in the security and military fields.
Minister Menassa thanked Ambassador Cowell for the continued British support and his country's standing by Lebanon and the army, appreciating the assistance provided to the military institution.
Separately, the Minister of Defense met with the head of the Lebanese Armed Forces Veterans Association, Major General Nicolas Mezher, at the head of a delegation from the Association. The delegation congratulated Minister Menassa on assuming his duties in the Ministry of Defense.
The meeting addressed the rights of active-duty and retired military personnel, emphasizing the need for fair recognition of their sacrifices and the significant responsibilities they bear.
