Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic, Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian, along with other regional Lebanese Muftis who are currently on an official visit to Mecca issued a statement condemning the "brutal Israeli aggression" on southern Lebanon and other areas including yesterday’s attack targeting Beirut Southern Suburbs.
The statement from Dar al-Fatwa's media office denounced the "terrorist and savage" attacks, calling for increased national unity to prevent a broader conflict.
The statement urged the Lebanese Army and security forces to be fully prepared to defend the country. The Muftis also appealed to the Arab League and the international community to deter Israel’s ongoing violence.
On another note, the Muftis also performed Umrah and visited religious sites in Mecca.
