Lebanese Forces Party leader Samir Geagea held an extended phone call with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Atti discussing Lebanon’s recent government-approved ceasefire agreement and the full implementation of UN Resolution 1701, according to a statement from Geagea's office.
Geagea affirmed his party’s commitment to working with the current government to implement the agreement, emphasizing the importance of restoring full Lebanese sovereignty, ensuring the state's exclusive control over arms, and maintaining sole responsibility for national defense.
The two officials agreed to maintain open lines of communication during this critical juncture in Lebanon’s history.
