Prime Minister Nawaf Salam began his southern tour with a series of high-level military meetings at François el-Hajj Barracks in Marjayoun, where he conferred with senior officers and military leadership.
Following the discussions, Salam proceeded to Khiam, where he surveyed the extensive destruction caused by Israeli aggression, which severely impacted the town and its surrounding villages.
During his visit, Salam engaged in a brief dialogue with local residents, who expressed their steadfast commitment to the full liberation of the South and their support for the path of resistance in ensuring the withdrawal of any remaining Israeli military presence.
In response, Salam reaffirmed that “the Lebanese Army is fulfilling its duties to the fullest and is the sole entity entrusted with protecting and defending the nation."
After concluding his tour in Khiam, the Prime Minister and his accompanying ministerial delegation continued along the Khiam–Marjayoun–Khardali highway, before heading toward Nabatieh to continue their assessment of the region.
