The meeting between caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati and the newly-appointed Syrian administration head, Ahmad al-Shara, has begun at the People's Palace in Damascus.
Representing Lebanon are Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdallah Bou Habib, Acting Director General of General Security Major General Elias Baissari, Army Intelligence Director Brigadier General Tony Kahwaji, and Deputy Director General of General Security Brigadier General Hassan Choucair.
On the Syrian side, Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shabandi, Head of Intelligence General Anas Khattab, and the head of al-Shara's office, Ali Kaddah, are participating.
Shara welcomed Mikati at the entrance of the People's Palace.
