Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros Rahi said during Sunday Mass in Bkerke this morning that Lebanon looks forward to a president who believes in institutions and is able to work for economic recovery.
"The country needs a president who enjoys internal and external confidence, a president who believes in institutions and activates them, a president capable of economic revival and rebuilding destroyed homes in various Lebanese regions, especially in southern Lebanon, the suburbs, the Bekaa, the Baalbek region, a president who moves to reform structures and frameworks, a president who creates internal unity among citizens," Patriarch Rahi went on.
Rahi added: "Together with the Lebanese, we look forward to January 9 for the election of a president after the shameful vacuum, and we pray for the election of the right president for this stage."
