The Trump administration has identified 443 federal properties for possible sale, including the headquarters of the US Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Labor Department and other federal agencies.
The General Services Administration, which manages federal properties, said on its web site the buildings were “not core to government operations”.
The Trump administration has sought to overhaul the US government, including conducting mass layoffs and seeking to wind down some agencies completely.
Firebrand FBI director Kash Patel had previously said he wanted to turn the agency’s headquarters into a “museum”.
