Caretaker Interior Minister, Judge Bassam Mawlawi, held a meeting with governors to review measures following the ceasefire and oversee the return of displaced residents.
The Interior Minister commended their dedication, stating, "Governors have demonstrated exceptional professionalism and patriotism, safeguarding all regions despite immense challenges."
Moreover, Mawlawi praised their role in maintaining coordination with the National Authority, displaced individuals, and host communities, ensuring adherence to the law during the crisis. He extended condolences to the families of those martyred, including members of the Lebanese Army, Civil Defense, and public sector employees across municipalities.
Reflecting on the displacement crisis, Mawlawi noted a significant return of displaced individuals to their towns and villages with dignity. He emphasized the importance of entering a new phase focused on reinforcing state legitimacy and unity, calling on citizens to collaborate with security, military, and municipal bodies in rebuilding a resilient Lebanese state.
