Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea met with US envoy Amos Hochstein at his residence in Maarab, accompanied by US Ambassador Lisa Johnson and his assistant, in the presence of MP Sethrida Geagea and former Minister Richard Karamjian, head of the LF Foreign Relations Department.
Hochstein briefed Geagea on the ongoing negotiations aimed to achieve a ceasefire and agreeing on mechanisms to implement UN Security Council Resolution 1701. He is awaiting responses from the Lebanese side to relay to Israel, provided there are serious positives to build upon.
For his part, Geagea emphasized that any solution not based on the implementation of international resolutions 1559, 1680, 1701, and the relevant provisions of the Taif Agreement would be ineffective for Lebanon.
Geagea and his wife hosted Hochstein and Ambassador Johnson for dinner following the meeting.
