Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri received a phone call from EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell, with whom he discussed the importance of communicating to cease fire, in order to implement UN Resolution 1701 and elect a president for the republic.
Speaker Berri thanked France and the European Union for "organizing the international conference to be held in Paris in support of Lebanon, humanitarianly and politically, to confront the repercussions resulting from the ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon and the Lebanese, which has caused the displacement of more than one million and two hundred thousand displaced Lebanese."
On the other hand, Speaker Berri received a written letter from French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot.
