The United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, began a visit to Israel today, where she is scheduled to meet with senior Israeli officials.
Discussions will focus on the implementation of the Cessation of Hostilities Understanding reached on 26 November 2024, and United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 (2006).
Reaffirming the importance of enhancing security and stability for the populations on both sides of the Blue Line, the Special Coordinator continues to call on all parties to prevent the creation of a new reality on the ground, stressing the need to move forward in implementing the solutions stipulated in Security Council Resolution No. 1701.
