Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati accompanied by Caretaker Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib met with European Council President Charles Michel at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center in the Dead Sea, Jordan.
During the meeting, Michel expressed his understanding of Lebanon's stance on the issue of Syrian refugees, highlighting that European leaders are aware of the pressures this situation imposes on Lebanon.
He noted that progress in resolving this dilemma was expected to accelerate following the European elections.
Furthermore, Michel suggested that the commencement of a ceasefire process in Gaza would inevitably contribute to calm in southern Lebanon.
