Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri welcomed at the second presidency headquarters in Ain El-Tineh Günter Sautter, Director General for International Order, the United Nations and Arms Control in the Federal Foreign Office.
The meeting, which was also attended by German Ambassador to Lebanon, Kurt Georg Stoeckl-Stillfried, focused on the current developments in Lebanon and the region, particularly in light of Israel's continued aggression against Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.
Speaker Berri also reviewed the latest political developments with Dr. Khaled Hadadi, the former Secretary-General of the Lebanese Communist Party.
After the meeting, Dr. Hadadi stated, "The visit was to express pride in the martyrs of the resistance in all its forms, including the martyrs of the Amal Movement, the Islamic Resistance, and our people in the South.
This resistance is essential and must continue, and it cannot be separated from what is happening in Gaza. Any talk of ceasing resistance in Lebanon without a ceasefire in Gaza is a dubious attempt to weaken the resistance in Gaza and isolate it from its sources of strength."
