Israel launched a wave of attacks on Gaza in the early hours of Tuesday, killing over 300 Palestinians, in a unilateral end of its ceasefire agreement with Hamas.
Footage showed children and babies among those killed and wounded, as air strikes attacks targeted multiple areas across the enclave, including northern Gaza, Gaza City, Deir al-Balah, Khan Younis and Rafah - which borders Egypt in the south.
Gaza's health ministry said at least 310 Palestinians had been killed, with the death toll steadily rising since the beginning of the onslaught overnight, which coincided with the 18th day of the holy month of Ramadan.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he has instructed the military to take "strong action" against Hamas in Gaza, accusing the group of refusing to release captives and rejecting all ceasefire proposals.
"Israel will, from now on, act against Hamas with increasing military strength," the prime minister's office said in a statement.
