President Michel Aoun stressed on Tuesday the importance of the role of the International Mentor Foundation and its Arab branch based in Beirut, especially with great care it provides to young people.
"This care was behind the establishment of the Human Academy for encounter and dialogue," the President said as welcoming Queen of Sweden, Silvia, head of the International Mentor Foundation, who is currently on a visit to Lebanon to participate in a ceremony to launch the Youth Mentoring Platform in Beirut.
Queen Silvia thanked the President of the Republic and Lebanon for all the efforts to raise awareness and help young people fight against perils. She also welcomed the role of the Lebanese diaspora in the world, especially in Sweden.
For his part the President confirmed Lebanon's determination to combat drug trafficking.
Queen Silvia then gave the president a briefing about the activities of the Arab Mentor Foundation, expressing her satisfaction to visit Lebanon to celebrate as well the 10th anniversary of the Lebanese branch.
She stressed the importance of interaction among people in countries around the world, noting that this is one of the goals of the Mentor organization that brings together leaders from around the world.
