Lebanese Ambassador to Abuja, Nigeria, Hossam Diab visited the Lebanese community in the city of Kano, where he was received by Honorary Consul of Lebanon, Khalil Musallmani on Wednesday.
Diab inspected a number of Lebanese-run facilities in the area and expressed admiration for "the size of investments that Lebanese businessmen employ in the field of industry, (...) and the great employment opportunities offered by these industries to thousands of Nigerian workers."
"This is a source of pride for Lebanon and the Lebanese in Nigeria," he said.
Diab also participated in the annual ceremony held by the Lebanese School on the occasion of the academic year end, calling on "the Lebanese community to be more cohesive, friendly, loving and united, and to maintain public order and abide by the laws of the host country, Nigeria, for the benefit of both countries."
He also praised the Lebanese school's role in preserving the Arabic language and a high level of education, wishing "the Lebanese community and the Nigerian State continued security, stability and prosperity."
