Al-Manar television broadcasted on Friday a video footage, captured by a surveillance camera, showing the booby-trapped Grand Cherokee driving through al-Arid Street in the southern Beirut suburb of Haret Hreik.
The footage shows the explosive-rigged car wending its way through the thronged neighborhood before it explodes. The metal barriers prevented the suicide bomber from parking the SUV on the side of the road, prompting him to detonate it hastily.
Panicked bystanders scrambling to douse burning vehicles on the busy Al-Arid Street, beneath a building whose facade had been burned out, were also seen.
