A group consisting of seven members who all belong to the Jabal Mohsen-based Arab Democratic Party turned out to be involved in Tripoli’s twin bombing attacks, sources familiar with the investigation told al-Mustaqbal newspaper.
According to the sources, Youssef Diab and Ahmad Merhi orchestrated respectively the bombing attacks that targeted the northern city’s al-Salam and al-Taqwa mosques.
The sources added that the Syrian Intelligence had plotted these attacks in coordination with Sheikh Ahmad al-Gharib. However, the latter didn’t take part in the execution of the twin assaults as the Syrian masterminds deemed it more favorable to assign the task to a ‘seasoned’ group, recruiting therefore seven individuals who hail from Jabal Mohsen.
