Resistance Brigades emerged in Sidon following the municipality elections during which Hizbullah allies' lost the battle in addition to their loss in the parliamentary elections.
Hizbullah's party back then focused its interests as well as its budget on a group of young men belonging to the Popular Nasserite Organization.
The role of Resistance Brigades was activated when cleric Ahmad al-Assir came to spotlight. The Privileges provided by Hizbullah to the Resistance Brigades angered Nasserite Organization, because the latter's cadres joined the Brigades.
The anger triggered a number of clashes between both parties, the fiercest one occurred in Sidoun near the Popular Nasserite Organization Headquarters.
The incident pushed Popular Nasserite Organization leader Oussama Saad to criticize the Resistance Brigades and the party behind it.
Last July, during the memorial of Maarouf Saad the founder of the organization, no Hizbullah representative was seen, which explains the estrangement between both ends.
In September, Saad held a meeting with the Hizbullah's political member Mahmoud Qamati in order to resolve tangled issues, the Nasserite leader insisted on highlighting the Resistance Brigades.
During another meeting held on Tuesday, Qamati told Saad that Hizbullah decided to dissolve the Resistance Brigades group but without demolishing the Resistance in Sidon, according to reports.
Resistance Brigades members did not get paid for the last three months, according to information, noting that their salaries range from $200 to $500.
Hizbullah official in Sidon Hajj Zeid Daher said to "mtv" that talks about dissolving it are not true; however on the other hand Sheikh Soheib Habli, a close figure to the group, hinted that a decision will soon be issued to control undisciplined cases.
Also Sheikh Habli rejected to unveil the number of the Resistance Brigades number; however he assures that the group and the organization are still unified.
As for Popular Nasserite Organization head Oussama Saad, we tried to call him but in vain.
