Prime Minister Najib Mikati affirmed, during his meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, on Tuesday the strength of the Lebanese-Turkish relations, stressing that "there are deep-rooted historical ties between Lebanon and Turkey."
"We appreciate Turkey's constant interest in and support for Lebanon at all levels," he said, saluting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, "who always shows interest in Lebanese affairs and supports the government's work," praising his country's willingness to use its friendships in international forums to support Lebanon's positions and help it rise from the crisis it is going through.
In turn, Cavusoglu expressed his pleasure to have met PM Mikati, and relayed to him "an official invitation to visit Turkey soon to discuss prospects of cooperation."
He also expressed "Turkey's interest in supporting the health sector in Lebanon in particular, especially government hospitals, and providing them with medicines and medical supplies," stressing "the strengthening of commercial investments and tourism cooperation between the two countries."
