Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that "the Lebanese government is responsible for the missile attacks from its territory," following the Israeli army's announcement of intercepting three rockets launched from Lebanon and activating alerts in the border town of Metula.
Katz added in a clear Israeli threat: "Metula for Beirut... and I have issued instructions to the Israeli army to respond to the launch sources from Lebanon."
The Israeli Defense Minister emphasized, "We will not allow fire to be launched from Lebanon at Israeli towns in the Galilee. We promised to secure the Galilee towns, and that is exactly what will happen."
Meanwhile, the mayor of Metula pointed out that "Hezbollah must be eliminated, and this is what we must strive for," adding, "Since the ceasefire was declared, only 10% of the residents have returned to Metula."
He also addressed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying, "Focus on providing security for the citizens of Israel instead of dealing with trivial matters."
