Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Rahi, received Lebanon’s Health Professions Union, led by Beirut’s Medical Syndicate chief, Dr. Youssef Bakhash. The delegation discussed Lebanon’s healthcare crisis and the union’s efforts to unify medical professions.
Rahi praised the initiative, urging reforms to save the country.
The Maronite Patriarch later met Austrian Ambassador to Lebanon Franziska Honsowitz-Friessnigg who highlighted Lebanon’s role in interfaith dialogue.
The Austrian diplomat stressed that dialogue, a shared value between Lebanon and Austria, was key to peace and stability, advocating its reinforcement at all levels—among individuals, communities, and nations—to foster lasting solutions.
