Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri met with World Bank Deputy Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, Ousmane Dione, at the Second Presidency in Ain El Tineh.
The meeting, attended by the bank’s representative in Lebanon, Jean-Christophe Carret, focused on the World Bank’s programs and plans for reconstruction and infrastructure rehabilitation in Lebanon.
Berri also received UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert with whom he held talks on the general situation and political developments.
Discussions reportedly centered on Israel’s continued occupation of Lebanese territories in the south, its violations of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, and ongoing breaches of the ceasefire agreement.
