The Brazilian government congratulated the Lebanese people and government on the election, in a parliamentary vote held on Thursday, the 9th, of General Joseph Aoun as President of Lebanon. The choice comes after more than two years of presidential vacancy in the country.
The Brazilian government expresses confidence that overcoming this long period of presidential vacancy will contribute to addressing Lebanon's social, economic, and security challenges.
Brazil reaffirms its commitment to the continuous strengthening of the historic ties of cooperation and friendship with Lebanon.
