Fayad, Rahi broach Lebanon’s political and economic future

Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Rahi, welcomed Caretaker Minister of Energy Walid Fayad, at the patriarchal residence in Bkerke. 

The meeting focused on both domestic and regional issues, with discussions centered on Lebanon’s current political and economic challenges.  

Following the meeting, Minister Fayad stressed the importance of seizing the current opportunity, referring to the ceasefire, to rebuild Lebanon’s constitutional institutions. He called for the election of a new president and the formation of a capable government to lead the country towards recovery.  

Fayad also expressed hopes that the situation in Syria would not negatively affect Lebanon, wishing for peace to prevail in the region to allow Lebanon to rise once again.
