Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati received a phone call from Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides with whom he discussed the latest developments in Lebanon and the recently declared ceasefire.
President Christodoulides expressed his support for Lebanon and its stability.
Mikati also received calls of solidarity from Grand Mufti of Lebanon Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian and Druze Spiritual Leader Sheikh Sami Abi Al-Muna, both offering support for the Lebanese government and Mikati's efforts during these difficult times.
Ahead of the cabinet meeting, Mikati met with Army Commander, General Joseph Aoun, with whom he discussed security updates and the plan to bolster the army's presence in southern Lebanon.
Mikati also welcomed Italian Ambassador to Lebanon, Fabrizio Marcelli, with whom he discussed bilateral relations and current developments.
