Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Abdallah Bou Habib received a phone call from Japan's Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya, with whom he discussed efforts to halt the ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon.
Minister Bou Habib expressed appreciation for Japan's support for Lebanon and peace, highlighting Japan's commitment to diplomatic solutions, its financial contributions to the recent Paris Conference, and its collaborative role with other nations to achieve a ceasefire in the UN Security Council.
Bou Habib also thanked Japan for its humanitarian efforts in Lebanon, particularly the assistance provided to the Lebanese people, and reiterated Lebanon's commitment to implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
In response, Minister Iwaya emphasized Japan's commitment to the security and safety of UNIFIL and the necessity of de-escalating tensions in Lebanon and the region.
The Japanese Foreign Minister also announced Japan's intention to provide additional aid to displaced persons in Lebanon.
