The Israeli army has claimed that Hezbollah is storing hundreds of millions of dollars in cash and gold beneath the Sahel Hospital in Haret Hreik to finance its operations.
According to army spokesperson Avichay Adraee, intelligence suggests that Hezbollah has placed the underground shelter of Hassan Nasrallah beneath the hospital. The shelter’s entry and exit points are reportedly located within the Ahmadi and Sahel center buildings. Adraee stated that the money and gold stored there, a portion allegedly taken from Lebanese citizens, could have been used for Lebanon’s reconstruction.
Adraee added that these funds are designated solely for Hezbollah’s military activities, with no other purpose. Israeli reconnaissance aircraft are currently monitoring the site. He urged the Lebanese government and international organizations to reclaim the misappropriated funds and prevent Hezbollah from using them for its agenda. Emphasizing that Israel’s conflict is with Hezbollah, not Lebanese citizens, Adraee accused Iran of continuing to arm and direct Hezbollah to serve Iranian interests.
The hospital is identified as being located on Dargham Street, along Airport Road in Haret Hreik.
