Statement from Samir Geagea, Leader of the Lebanese Forces Party:
"What Prime Minister Najib Mikati expressed today in response to the remarks made by the Iranian Parliament Speaker gives us a glimpse of hope that the Lebanese state, albeit after considerable damage, is beginning to take on its responsibilities. Mikati's statements reflect the views of every true Lebanese. We wish he would go further and declare that the Lebanese government calls for a ceasefire based on the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions 1559, 1680, and 1701, as this is the only way to halt the ongoing massacres in Lebanon that have persisted for nearly two months."
