Minister of Public Works Fayez Rasamny will launch on Friday, March 7, 2025 the Digital Gates Project at Rafic Hariri International Airport, under the slogan "Beyond Aviation: The Smart Airport Experience”, in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the German Federal Police.
Valued at $1.1 million and implemented by Black Delta Defence, the project includes the installation of 30 digital gates aimed at improving airport efficiency and security. These upgrades feature:
- Six Pre-Security Boarding Gates to streamline passenger movement.
- Twenty-four gates at the General Security area to enhance border control measures.
- A queuing flow management system for optimized passenger circulation.
The event will feature remarks from key officials, including Public Works and Transport Minister H.E. Fayez Rasamny, Director General of Civil Aviation Mr. Fadi El Hassan, and representatives from the German and Danish embassies, along with IOM Lebanon.
A site visit will follow, allowing attendees to witness the new digital gates in action.
