Diplomatic sources reported to Al Liwaa that French Presidential Envoy Jean-Yves Le Drian is set to arrive in Beirut early next week, between Sunday evening and Tuesday. The visit aims to follow up on the current developments in Lebanon, including the southern region and recent events. However, the primary objective remains to assess the progress regarding the presidential election. Le Drian will also participate in celebrating Saudi Arabia’s National Day at the Saudi Embassy.
The sources confirmed that "France will not surrender to the status quo and will continue its efforts to support Lebanon, elect a president, and stop the war."
This sentiment was expressed by French President Emmanuel Macron in a special message to the Lebanese people ahead of Le Drian’s visit.
