Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati met with Vladimir Safronkov, the special envoy of the Russian Foreign Minister to Lebanon, at the Grand Serail. The meeting was attended by Maxim Romanov, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Russian Embassy in Lebanon, and Ambassador Boutros Assaker, the diplomatic advisor to the Prime Minister.
During the meeting, discussions focused on the situation in southern Lebanon, Gaza, and the stalled peace process. The Russian envoy emphasized the importance of all parties exercising restraint as a prelude to reviving the peace process.
Safronkov noted that his visit to Lebanon was part of a broader tour of the region.
