Two people were killed in Mississippi, USA, due to storms that caused extensive damage to the roofs of a residential building and a nursing home.
The storms have threatened additional areas across the United States, accompanied by highly unstable weather conditions. Severe storms also hit various regions, causing heavy dust storms in the Southwest and snowstorms that led to zero visibility in the Midwest. Furthermore, concerns about wildfires were raised in other parts of the country.
In Irving, Texas, a tornado with winds of 110 mph (177 km/h) struck, while Ada, Oklahoma, a town with a population of 16,000, was hit by another tornado, according to preliminary data from the National Weather Service.
The northern parish of Caddo in Louisiana also witnessed two tornadoes with wind speeds of 93 mph (150 km/h).
