Watch: Fire Engulfs Latakia

The Syrian Civil Defense announced the outbreak of five massive fires in rugged forested areas in the mountains of Latakia’s countryside.

It stated that three of these fires ignited almost simultaneously, while two others broke out later at a different time.

The Civil Defense clarified that its teams managed to extinguish one of the fires, while efforts continue to battle the remaining four amid significant challenges. These include difficult access to the fire sources due to mountainous terrain and the rapid spread of flames driven by strong winds, increasing the risk of the fire reigniting and spreading to new areas.
