The government of the semi-autonomous Puntland region in northern Somalia said US airstrikes on the Golis mountains killed "key leaders" of the Islamic State group, according to AFP.
"Recent airstrikes have neutralized key leaders of the Islamic State group, marking significant progress as we move forward with the second phase of our operation," the government said.
