Foreign Minister of the new Syrian administration Asaad Al-Shaibani arrived in Qatar on Sunday on an official visit, his first to the Gulf state since the overthrow of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad about a month ago.
A Syrian diplomat in Doha and a Qatari official told Agence France-Presse that Al-Shaibani arrived in the morning to hold meetings.
Qatar was the second country after Turkey to reopen its embassy in Damascus after the fall of Assad.
