As part of ongoing efforts by Jordan’s Border Guard Forces, the Jordanian Southern Command thwarted an attempt to smuggle a drone across the western border on Monday evening, according to a statement by the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF).
“The Border Guard Forces of the Jordanian Southern Command, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, intercepted an unmanned aerial vehicle attempting to illegally cross the border,” the statement read.
“Engagement protocols were applied, and the drone was successfully downed within Jordanian territory before being transferred to the relevant authorities,” it added.
“The Jordanian Armed Forces remain steadfast in using all resources and measures to prevent smuggling and infiltration attempts, ensuring the security and stability of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan,” the statement concluded.
