Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee announced that "in a joint operation by the IDF and Shin Bet, the Israeli army, guided by intelligence from the Military Intelligence Directorate and Shin Bet, eliminated Fathi Sharif, the head of Hamas' Lebanon front."
Adraee clarified that Sharif was responsible for coordinating Hamas activities in Lebanon and with Hezbollah-linked entities, as well as efforts to build Hamas' strength in Lebanon through recruiting and acquiring weaponry. He led efforts to bolster Hamas' presence in Lebanon both politically and militarily.
Adraee emphasized that the Israeli army, in coordination with Shin Bet, will continue to act against anyone who poses a threat to Israeli citizens.
