A balcony at a nightclub in the Mexican city of San Luis Potosí collapsed from a height of six meters, killing two people and injuring another fifteen, announced city council secretary Jorge Hernandez.
"The uncontrolled presence of people at this event caused one of the railings on the third floor of the Altus shopping center to give way, causing this tragedy that claimed the lives of two people, according to the information we have now, around 15 are injured, some of them seriously,”, the official told reporters, quoted by Milenio.
According to media reports, five victims were seriously injured and are in intensive care.
City officials said the shopping center where the club is located is closed to visitors.
According to preliminary information, the organizers of the mass event did not have permission to hold it and an investigation is underway.
