MTV website has learned Monday that former French President Nicolas Sarkozy will head to Lebanon on a private visit, upon the invitation of Archbishop of the Greek Catholic diocese of Zahleh and Forzol Issam Darwish.
In an interview with our website, Darwish stressed that the date of visit has not been scheduled yet but will likely take place by the end of the current week.
Darwish pointed out that Sarkozy's visit carries no political background, without affirming if the ex-president will tour on Lebanese top officials.
"My friendship with Sarkozy prompted me to invite him to Lebanon and to visit Zahleh in particular, since the city did not receive such high-profile figure for a long time," Darwish concluded.
