Graphic Design & 2D Animator

Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented Graphic Designer & 2D Animator to join our news production team. This role is pivotal in enhancing our on-air presence by creating visually compelling graphics and animations to accompany our news reports. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for design, strong animation skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced newsroom environment.

Responsibilities

1. Design and create visually appealing graphics, and animations to accompany news stories and reports.

2. Collaborate closely with producers, editors, and reporters to conceptualize and execute creative ideas that enhance the storytelling process.

3. Ensure all graphics and animations adhere to the channel's brand guidelines and standards.

4. Stay up-to-date with current events, trends, and technologies in the news industry to inform design decisions and maintain relevance.

5. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.

6. Work closely with the editorial team to understand the content and context of news stories, translating them into engaging visual elements.

7. Continuously refine and improve the visual style and quality of on-air graphics and animations.

8. Maintain an organized file structure and archive of graphic assets for easy access and future use.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in graphic design & animation.

2. Proven 1 to 3 years of experience in graphic design and 2D animation, preferably in a news or broadcasting environment.

3. Proficiency in industry-standard design and animation software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).

4. Strong portfolio demonstrating creative design skills, animation abilities, and a keen understanding of visual storytelling.

5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

6. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality or attention to detail.

7. Knowledge of broadcast graphics workflows and technical requirements is a plus.

8. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and willingness to take on new challenges in a fast-paced environment.
