Minister of Information Paul Morcos met with UNESCO Regional Office Director in Beirut Costanza Farina, at Tele Liban, accompanied by UNESCO Media and Communication Officer George Awad, and Head of the Media Literacy Unit Adeline Houlahan.
Discussions focused on ongoing projects between UNESCO and the Ministry of Information, preparations for an upcoming meeting at UNESCO’s Beirut office on March 19, and key issues including combating hate speech, national policies on fake news, and artificial intelligence.
Following the meeting, Morcos highlighted progress in securing support for Tele Liban, confirming that new cameras and specialized archival equipment would be delivered soon to help preserve Lebanon’s media heritage.
