President Joseph Aoun met at Baabda presidential Palace, with MP Adib Abdel Massih, with whom he broached the country’s general situation, the latest developments, and the repercussions of the Syrian events on the Lebanese arena.
The discussion also reportedly touched on the situation in the south, the needs of the Koura region, and the necessity of ensuring its rights in the upcoming administrative appointments so that it is fairly represented.
MP Abdel Massih pointed out that the discussion also addressed the necessity of holding municipal and mayoral elections on their constitutional date, in addition to an array of developmental projects of a comprehensive national nature.
President Aoun also met with MP Ihab Matar, who said that the discussion "addressed a number of general topics, and the outcomes of the President's visit to Saudi Arabia and Cairo."
MP Matar voiced full support and confidence in the current tenure.
Matar also indicated that the discussion also covered "the needs of the north, in general, and Tripoli, in particular, in the areas of security and development."
Additionally, Aoun met with MP Wael Abou Faour, who said that he discussed with the President the situation in the south, and the developments on the northern and eastern borders."
