Minister of Public Works Fayez Rasamny met with MP Sethrida Geagea, accompanied by former MP Joseph Isaac, who visited to offer well-wishes after the government secured the parliament’s vote of confidence.
The meeting focused on various infrastructure projects under the ministry’s jurisdiction in the Bsharri district.
Discussions included advancing the Hadchit Road project toward implementation and revisiting the long-delayed Qannoubine Valley road project, which stretches approximately four kilometers from the power plant to the Monastery of Our Lady of Qannoubine. Initially awarded in 2019, the project has yet to be executed.
Additionally, the meeting addressed preparations for the tendering process of a critical retaining wall at the main entrance of Bcharri near Hadchit. The deterioration of this structure poses a significant risk to public safety, making its reinforcement an urgent priority.
The officials also reviewed ongoing road maintenance projects across the villages and towns of the Bcharri district, emphasizing the necessity of sustained infrastructure improvements.
