Prime Minister Nawaf Salam received at the Grand Serail, Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel in the presence of the Portuguese Ambassador-designate to Lebanon Vanda Sequeira.
The meeting also took place in the presence of the Director of Premier Salam’s Office Hind Darwish, and Diplomatic Advisor Ali Qaranouh.
Following the meeting, the Portuguese Foreign Minister said he had conveyed “a message of support from his country for the new phase that Lebanon is going through," describing it as "full of hope.”
He also stressed the "importance of achieving reforms, as well as supporting the Lebanese army and UNIFIL to enable them to carry out their role in preserving stability."
Separately, Premier Salam received former Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Bou Habib, with whom he broached the general situation.
