Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary, and Expatriate Affairs, Vahid Jalalzadeh, visited Lebanon and met with Lebanon's Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib.
In his remarks, Jalalzadeh emphasized the long-standing and brotherly relations between Lebanon and Iran, praising Lebanon’s resilience during the recent Israeli assault. He congratulated the Lebanese people and their resistance for their steadfastness and the resulting ceasefire agreement.
Jalalzadeh also addressed the issue of Syrian refugees, urging close cooperation between Lebanese officials and international organizations to provide essential care for those displaced by the conflict in Syria.
The Iranian diplomat further expressed his country’s unwavering support for Lebanon in humanitarian matters and reiterated Tehran’s readiness to assist Lebanon in this regard.
In a related note, Jalalzadeh condemned recent Israeli threats targeting Lebanon's sovereignty and called for respect for Lebanese independence in shaping foreign relations.
Additionally, Foreign Minister Bou Habib received the credentials of Slovenia's Ambassador to Lebanon, Gorazd Renčelj.
