Outgoing Prime Minister Najib Mikati welcomed Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, alongside Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon Alaa Moussa.
During the meeting, the Egyptian minister conveyed the greetings of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly, praising Mikati’s efforts during his tenure as head of government.
Abdelatty also expressed hope that Lebanon’s government would be formed swiftly to address the significant challenges facing both Lebanon and the broader region.
In response, Mikati thanked Egypt for its continuous support of Lebanon, reaffirming his confidence that the new government would soon be established to tackle these pressing challenges.
Mikati separately met with UN Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator in Lebanon Imran Riza.
