Caretaker Minister of Education Abbas Halabi met with Caretaker Minister of Information Ziad Makary with whom he discussed public affairs and the political situation following the presidential election.
Halabi then hosted a delegation from the Disability Pastoral Care Department of the Patriarchal Diocese in Bkerke, including Father Milad Sakiem, Dalia Freifer, and Theresia Freifer.
The delegation, joined by Education Director-General Imad Ashkar and Dr. Hilda Khoury, presented their efforts to enhance the integration of people with disabilities in schools and universities. They also expressed interest in holding a conference on integration in Bkerke, which would involve relevant stakeholders.
Halabi welcomed the initiative, noting that the Ministry of Education now has 117 inclusive schools and aims for all public schools to be inclusive by 2023.
The Education Minister also supported the proposed conference under the patronage of Patriarch Rahi, emphasizing the need to support students with disabilities, especially those affected by the Israeli aggression.
